At the start the story might feel a bit confusing, but it is explained bit by bit as you continue to read. This is done mostly through flashbacks. The art mostly does not have any colour, but some panels do have one bright colour to put emphasis on certain items or emotions. The backgrounds are not very detailed, putting a focus on the characters instead. In unserious situations the characters are often less detailed as well and have more exaggerated expressions.
